Admission

The Local Education Authority is the Admission Authority for county schools and admission is according to its criteria. Please see below to find out how to apply for a place at our school.

Parents can register online for Reception and Secondary places at www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/admissions support is available if you phone 01223 699200.  In year school applications can be done if you contact admissions at or telephone 01223 699200 and 01223 699662.  If you need any more information please speak to our office team and they will help you.

If you would like to apply for a place in our Nursery please come and see us at the school office. You will need to fill in a Nursery admission form (Expression of interest form).  We normally ask parents to wait until their child is 2 years old before registering.  Registration is date of birth order (September birthdays on top of list) and catchment area then out of catchment.

Attendance
Research has indicated that there is a strong correlation between educational standards and attendance at school. With the support of parents we have seen some reduction in the amount of time lost through lateness and the taking of holidays in term time and this continues to be a priority for school improvement. The attendance rates are as follows:
·         Expected attendance - 95% and above
·         Average attendance – 94 – 95 %
·         Low attendance – 94% and below
Attendance of less than 85% is a real cause for concern and if a child has an absence of less than 80% then they are deemed to be a persistent absentee.

The school follows the Local Authority guidance regarding holidays. We are required to record all authorised and unauthorised absences. Leave from school will only be granted in ‘exceptional’ circumstances’ in line with the school policy. If you need to take your child out of school you need to complete a ‘Leave of Absence’ request form which is available from the school office.

It is crucial that parents do not take their child, children out of school during the time leading up to their KS1/KS2 SATs tests.
