Welcome to Year 1

The Year One team would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and outline some of the exciting learning that will be taking place this year. Year One begins the children's journey into Key Stage One, so it's a very important year!  We do lots of hands on learning through our inspiring and creative curriculum and we look forward to sharing our learning with you along the way. We thank you, in advance, for your support throughout the year, we really appreciate it and it really does make a difference.

Home Learning Expectations

Home learning will be put on Class Dojo every Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. Each week children will practise spellings, reading and number facts. Additionally, there will be a maths challenge based on the learning from the week or a challenge to prepare for the next week. For topic, a task will be set that will focus on our curriculum drivers; so it may be a ‘revisit’ task of something which has been done in the topic lesson that week, it may be a ‘ready’ task which may be research or pre- learn something for a session or ‘reframe’ where the task will be applying learning into a different context.

PE Days

Indoor PE is on a Wednesday and Outdoor PE is on a Friday . Please can children come to school in PE kits on these days.
