The Weatheralls Primary School

Welcome to Year 3

The Year 3 team would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and outline some of the exciting learning that will be taking place this year. As the children start their journey into Key Stage Two, we aim to challenge the children to become independent learners as well as provide opportunities to develop team work. We do lots revisiting prior learning from Key Stage One and build on this to complete new learning.  We thank you, in advance, for your support throughout the year. It really does make a difference!

Home Learning

Home learning will be put on Class Dojo every Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. Each week children will practise spellings, reading and times tables daily.

Each half term, there will a topic menu with some optional home learning on. These will be creative tasks based on what we are learning in our humanities, music, PE, art and DT lessons.

PE Days

PE is on a Monday and Tuesday. Please come to school in PE kits on these days.

Useful Information

Year 4 pupils undertake the multiplication tables. The purpose of the check is to make sure the times tables knowledge is at the expected level. It is an online test were the pupils are asked 25 questions on times tables 2 to 12. In year 3, we focus on revisiting the 2, 5 and 10 times tables and learning the 3, 4 and 8 times tables.
