Welcome to The Weatheralls Primary School
Welcome to the Weatheralls Primary School. We are an academy, within Staploe Education Trust. Together we strive to deliver outstanding learning, opportunity and care for all children in our community.
On behalf of the pupils, staff and school advisory body, I would like to welcome you. We hope you find our website clear, informative and easy to navigate. It is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school, the learning of our pupils and the quality education we deliver.
Being the Headteacher of Weatheralls Primary School gives me great pleasure. Having taught in Soham, at all three of its primary schools, I have a huge heart for the community and am fully committed to ensuring that the school serves our local children and their families well.
Our school is a large three form primary, in Soham’s town centre. We share our school site with the Child and Families Centre and Soham Playgroup Windmills. We work in partnership with these agencies to ensure an effective transition for children entering our Foundation Stage Nursery.
Visitors to our school comment positively on the space, our facilities and the stimulating environment. Our buildings are set in spacious grounds with a playing field, designated Forest School’s areas, a pond, an allotment area and quiet outdoor learning spaces. We have even made space for chickens! These facilities are well used and add to the wellbeing and learning of our pupils.
Soham is a town that our school is proud to be a part of. It has grown from a market town to a thriving, diverse community with good facilities. We benefit from many of these facilities and aim to develop our pupils to be positive role models in the town, giving back to their community.
We are an open, friendly school, in which parents are welcome and valued as partners in their children’s learning. We strive for every pupil and staff member to feel happy, safe and secure in our school, enabling them to learn and grow together.
While it is our priority that the education our pupils receive will enable them to achieve highly and progress confidently, it is also our vision that they are given opportunities and positive experiences that inspire them to dream and hold high aspirations of themselves. In order to develop our pupils into confident, independent learners and thinkers, we believe that we must build strength of character. We achieve this through teaching resilience, providing experiences within our school curriculum and nurturing our pupils as they take risks.
Our staff are committed to ensuring that the pupils of The Weatheralls Primary School possess the values that enable them to live well in society and prepare them to deal effectively with the challenges of the modern world. We value pride, perseverance and positivity. These values are embedded in all that we do.
Our school is a desirable place to work. Staploe Education Trust continues to build a teaching community where staff share expertise, learn together and develop their careers for the benefit of the children and teenagers of Soham. The Weatheralls is becoming a beacon school where others can learn from what we do.
If you would like to know more about our school, you are very welcome to come and visit. Our pupils very much enjoy talking about and sharing their achievements and our successes.
